Cookie Policy
Last updated June 6, 2026
CentPoll (CENTPOLL LLC, a Florida limited liability company) uses a small number of cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used in aggregate. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your data with ad networks. The only third-party cookies we set are Google Analytics, and only on our production site.
Cookies we set
| Name | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
| cp_session | Keeps you signed in. HTTP-only and not readable by scripts. | Strictly necessary | Sliding — renews while you're active, expires after about a week of inactivity |
| _ga | Google Analytics — distinguishes site visitors so we can measure aggregate usage. No advertising or cross-site tracking. | Analytics | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics — persists session state for the CentPoll measurement stream. | Analytics | 2 years |
The Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) are only set on the production CentPoll site, where analytics is configured. They are not set in local or preview environments. If you visit from the EEA or the UK, we ask for your consent first — these cookies stay off unless you accept, and you can decline.
Browser storage we use
Besides cookies, we keep a few items in your browser's local storage. These stay on your device, are never sent to ad networks, and exist only to make the app faster and remember your settings.
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
| theme | Remembers your light / dark / system mode preference. |
| cp_user | Caches your name and avatar so the dashboard paints instantly on reload. Cleared when you sign out. |
| cp_apicache:* | Short-lived cache of recent API responses for faster navigation. Revalidated in the background. |
| UI preferences | Small flags like sidebar width, dismissed banners, last-active workspace, and whether you've seen the sandbox tour. |
Your choices
You can clear or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The cp_session cookie is strictly necessary — if you block it, signing in will fail. Clearing local storage signs you out and resets your preferences.
Visitors in the EEA and UK are asked to accept or decline analytics cookies before any are set, and that choice is remembered. Anywhere else, you can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser. Blocking analytics does not affect your ability to use the platform.
Changes
We will update this page if we add or remove cookies. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change.
